Sometimes I need a break from the books I'm reading
and read something light and fun.
Something cozy.
~
This is the perfect time to pick up a delicious
CULINARY MYSTERY (a genre in itself).
There are many series available but I wanted to try a few
of the following because a friend of mine
enjoyed them... and the recipes
sounded yummy.
~
Hannah Swensen Mystery series
By
Joanne Fluke
~
A dollop of suspense
A spoonful of romance
A sprinkling of laughs
~
Hannah Swensen lives in Lake Eden, Minnesota
Where she opened her own shop
‘The Cookie Jar’
In this tasty shop "...much of the town's gossip
perculates along with the strong coffee."
I'm reading the first in the series:
Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder
~
I laughed out loud when the heroine
was crawling around in a dumpster
looking for a lipstick stained cup.
~
I love reading about her cat, Moishe,
who stalks through the book.
~
It's a fast and fun read and has my mouth watering
for every batch of cookies that come out of her oven.

Joanne Fluke's next book is:
Cream Puff Murders
You can find lots of interesting info about the
author, her books, the translated versions, and recipes
on her website:

~
This is a fast read and then I'm off to India through
The Song of the Cuckoo Bird.
But Hannah... I shall return soon!
ENJOY!!!
Joni

Oh my, I didn't know there was a whole series!! I read the Strawberry Shortcake one after I picked it up in a dollar bin at the used bookstore. It was fantastic, after that I got into knitting mysteries and coffee shop mysteries. Very deep reads, yup. They were fantastic.

I need to look into these. I've read Diane Mott Davidson's series of culinary mysteries. They are excellent -- and include recipes.

These look like lots of fun. I may have to plan a trip to the library. : )

ok, these really look like too much fun! Please please please let me know how your linoleum cuts go! I love that you don't have to have a press to print them!

OH I love books too! I just wish I could get through them faster....too many interruptions here. Yes...sometimes we need a lighter read...have you ever read the series, "The NO.1.Ladies Detective Agency"??? They are gorgeous....set in Africa! Have a great weekend my friend.

Okay, one question I have about these books.....do they have to be read in consecutive order? The DM Davidson books are best read in order -- I read them so haphazardly.

I just wondered. . . and I tried the #1 Detective Agency, and couldn't get into it. I probably should try again.

I didn't know about this series but it looks so cute. I'll check at my local library for copies. Thank you so much, Joni!

I so love these. I have to get more. With this frigid weather there's nothing better than a cozy fire, a good book and a hot cup of tea! Glad I found your blog...can't tell you how I got here, but I'm glad I did. Your bookmarks are fabulous!
