~Sunday~
A few days ago I read a blog about the 'repetition of shapes'.
Ali edwards had made a picture with lots of butterflies
repeated in rows.
It was so clean looking and appealing that I had to play with
it this weekend and make it my own.
I decided to use heart shapes as they're my favorite.
The most time-consuming part is choosing paper
that blends well. 4 of my paper choices are from Amy
Butler whom we usually associate with fabric.
I placed a 'pop dot' behind each heart to raise it off
the background paper.
The frame needs to be a double mat or a collector's
box to allow space for the raised shape.

I've enjoyed looking at it this weekend.
I tend to create 'busy' things and it's a delight to
have something 'simple' in the house.
Make it a great week!

This is so sweet! i love this idea, it's great for valentine!
nice idea joni!!
I can see your reflection on the glass of the frame :)
It's lovely. I like the simplicity.
I like the concept of repetition you discussed and love the outcome of your own repeat of hearts. It looks so pretty and there's a nice sense of balance.
You never cease to amaze me. Always so effective and even more so with the differing patterns. Thank you for sharing.
This is so great Joni. I have the same Amy Butler paper. I love the hearts you added with different paper. Thanks heaps! I’m going to make some cards with the adorable hearts!
You did exactly what I was plannin on doing with the Ali Edwards idea. I have a heart punch, and all sorts of fabric-inspired papers that I thought would make a great collage.
Unfortunately, my stuff is at home--and we're at my mom's. So, it will have to wait until another time.
Oh well. . all is good!
Ditto to all of the other comments, they have said it all, well except this part, "I am so "honored" ;) hee hee that you found a place in your creation for ME, LOL!! OK, roll your eyes everyone, I know, I am reading something into the project that's NOT there, but if I pretend, I can imagine it is for me, right?
If you are wondering what I am talking about, it's the bottom left heart, with the "Nannybird" in it! OK, I know I am silly, but it made me go 'awww' and just love it.
I have nominated you for an Art award on my blog, let me know if you decide not to participate, but I really hope you do!
BEAUTIFUL
Very, very CUTE!
So simple and so lovely!
They are all sweet, but my favorite is the music heart!!! In my heart there rings a melody!
LOL Wanda
Hey girl! I tagged you on my blog.
I'm sick. Coughing like a fiend. So over this!!
Heard your voice when I cleaned out my voicemail on my phone today. Made my day!! :)
Such a simple idea and yet so effective - A lovely piece of artwork. I agree with Corry - great for Valentines.
