Swimming in the lake and encountering a snorkeling sea monster named Boyd.Eating lots of ICE CREAM and getting messy.
More time with good friends Jen and Chris...
because they're not working in the summer.
Our husbands are shucking corn and tending the BBQ
so that we can have lots of 'together time'.
The glorious 4th of July!
Flowers in the window boxes.

Not tanning anymore... but reading in the shade.

WOW! I'd better come up with my list soon. . .my summer's almost over!
Hi Joni, Your summer sounds really Yummers! We both work and we only have 1 or 2 weeks off, but Summer to me is going to France, to a house on a hill with a view and fresh bread in the morning and visiting lots of beautiful little towns and having drinks and gorgeous meals in the evening, coffee and a book on a terras and and being lazy and taking lots of wonderful photos and looking for postcards to send to all our family and friends and having a barbecue at the pool. The reality is far from it! LOL
Summer to me is spending time with my girls as they will sooner than I like be grown up and off on there own or being old enough to be with friends and not want to be around mom and dad much. Crocheting in the evening after they are put down and relaxing and spending time with hubby after he comes home from a long day at work. Or sitting around with a good book. It just depends one what I am in the mood for.
You take such beautiful photos and I love how your entry always tells a story and ends with a reflection. Deep in winter now I am seriously longing for summer let me tell you! thank you once again for a bright, sunny and enchanting blog!
Oh Joni, we could have such fun together.....loved all the pictures, especially Boyd!!! And you are such a cutie!!!
Summer is...
-The smell of bug spray and sun screen mixed with dried sweat left on me after huge hugs and kisses from the kiddos.
-flip flops by the door.
-swim towels and suits hanging on the shower rod.
-slowing down to take in every moment of sun.
-later nights.
-laughing, smiling, games and jokes.
-time at camp as a family.
-time to dream.
