Buttons are HOT !!!

Buttons are everywhere!
They're all over scrapbooking layouts and other crafts.
Grandma's button box is no longer hidden away, but now filling a lovely glass vase in a place of prominence on a table.
A pretty jar filled with just white buttons is feminine... or looks great in the summer with nautical decor. And so on!
Let your imagination fly! Hmmmm... maybe a jar or dish of fall-colored buttons at this time of the year. Endless possibilities!!
And here's one more idea... A button-covered purse. I don't use mine as a handbag, but rather as a wall decoration.
The purse itself is inexpensive... the buttons are pre-sewn with thread... then glued onto the purse. I love the effect! Lots of color, pretty, a conversation piece, and fun to make.
Do you have any interesting ideas for buttons?

I love it! I have made some magnets out of buttons by gluing them onto the back. I never though of sewing thread in though. That's very clever.

Oh I love that bag! Amazingly I just bought four bags of buttons this morning! I love random mix buttons but they are really difficult and expensive to buy individually but when I glanced up the paper crafts aisle at the local craft shop/outlet I spotted bags of buttons for less than £1 so I bought blues, greens, reds/pinks and browns. Hundreds of buttons for less than £4!

I have my buttons sorted according to color in decorated clear jars and bottles. They look like bottles of jewels and it makes me smile just to look at them.
I especially like your purse because of the sheen of the pearlized buttons. Very cheery and happy.

I have a fruit jar full of buttons haging in a cute holder in my country kitchen. Maybe I'll post it some time.

So cute, I love purses, I had the idea of doing this once, but wasn't up to sewing so many buttons on to cover the entire bag, I hadn't thought of using glue and pre-sewing the holes to appear as to be sewn, that's very clever!

Thanks for sharing your projects, I love to read your blog. I found it by the link on Lisa's blog from Plain Jane Creations, I figured if she liked it enough to put it on her blog roll it must be a good one!

What a cute idea!!! That would be such fun in a little girls' room. . .with white, pearl, and pink buttons.

I feel an idea coming on!!!! Now, if I only had time to put one together!

By the way. . . a mystery package arrived at my house yesterday. Mark just walked in, grinned, and said, "Yummers."

It's too much fun. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

Oh Joni - it's wonderful! What a conversation piece! I so remember my mother's button jar when I was a little girl! Fantastic! Have a super weekend!

I've been adding buttons to things like packages and cards for a while now because they are indeed so inexpensive. I think the purse is very chique.

Love the buttons! My girls have some adorable jeans that have small rainbow colored buttons and ribbon bows sewn in a haphazard pattern from the hem up about 4-5 inches! Cute, cute! I am thinking about doing it with some more plain jeans b/c it adds a lot!
