Snow, snow, snow!

Snow... those beautiful white delicate flakes... that can shut down whole cities. Isn't that amazing when you think about it! My heart goes out to the East Coast and all the people that have been negatively affected by their recent storm. And another storm's on it's way! We had snow all day yesterday and it's predicted to hit us hard today and tomorrow morning. I love being snowed in! However... I wouldn't feel the same if I had to go to work.
********************************
Yesterday I added white wooden snowflakes to red branches on the fireplace. Wendy found the snowflakes at Crate and Barrel and they are so delicate. Love them! Thanks Wendy!!
I have become very sensitive to caffeine and am now on a quest for herbal teas and/or caffeine free teas. Some are soooooo tasty... and smell so good! At this time of the year I seem to have a cup of something hot in my hands most of the time.
RANDOM THOUGHTS...
~ "The Bachelor" was ridiculous last night!! Such phony drama... obviously rehearsed!
~ I am loving Geraldine Brooks novels. I bought them all! Remember... I buy on Amazon.com from their used books. So inexpensive and almost always in great shape.
~ Has anyone seen the movie "Amelia"?? I'd love to know what you thought of it!
~ I just watched "The Hurt Locker" and "Inglorious Bastards" as they both had a lot of Oscar nominations. I wasn't crazy about either of them.
~ Yesterday I wore my Uggs, a plaid flannel nightshirt of Boyds, and an apron over that. Try and visualize that for an outfit! It sure was comfy! Boyd would have laughed!
Make this a GREAT day! You have the choice... and if I can do it, so can you!
Hugs to you all,
Joni

I'll bet you looked cute as a button in your outfit Joni! I've read several Geraldine Brooks novels -- Year of Wonders was first and it remains one of my all time favorites. I have to say though, after that, her other novels were a bit disappointing to me.

It's snowing here too. We were supposed to get about a foot, but they're slowly downgrading our amounts, darn it! I LOVE the snow. Stay warm Sweet Joni!!!

Your outfit sounds wonderful - warm and cosy! Just what you need to be wearing when it's snowing outside :)
Have you tried Rooibos (Redbush) tea yet? It's a South African tea and I started drinking it when I lived there and continue to do so to this day. It's caffeine free, has quite a unique flavour but I find it calming and refreshing. Any time I'm feeling stressed I have a cup and feel much better for it. I drink it black with one sweetner but I know other people who have it white. If you give it a try, let me know what you think of it.
Take care of yourself

I try to picture your lovely outfit Joni! I bet you looked cute!

I only know the movie Amélie, it’s French, but Amelia doesn’t ring a bell.

Love your tableset! Such a great eye for detail and cosyness!

Thanks for your lovely comment. I always try to reply, but those replies bounce back, so I wonder if you ever receive them.

Take care dear friend!

Hugs))

Have you discovered the joys of Paperback Swap? You can find so many books there, and they're free! All you have to do is mail books to people in return. It's wonderful! paperbackswap.com

Hey there - love the snow flakes. And I have to admit - I watched just enough of the Bachelor last night to nearly gag. Since I've not watched it at all, I was totally lost. But the drama at the end was laughable!

Pretty flakes! I'm using branches in my house these days, too. But I hung clay hearts my boys made on them.
Geraldine Brooks is one of my favorite modern authors--I'm so glad to hear you're a fan too!

UGGS, love it Joni-you have spunk! I just tried the tetleyherbal and caff free ginseng and blueberry-it smells and tastes GREAT! There is atea place in BC that sells Angel Water Tea in little silver tins, I'll ask my sis what the place is called.

Hello my friend ... hope you are well. Love your snow tree! I quite enjoyed Amelia (the French film?). I only drink herbal teas, you will soon find some favourites. As to my photo ... you know anything of mine is yours my friend ... you only have to ask! Enjoy the rest of your week.

You have such spirit, Joni. I don't know how you do it. But you'd be a millionaire if you could bottle it and sell it.

Lovely that you're still enjoying life.
