Hello you wonderful people!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the kind comments when Boyd died. I read them over and over and they brought me such a warm feeling. I love you all for responding to a difficult post.

I'm getting used to being alone... somewhat... and thought it time to attempt posting on my blog. My attention span is very short right now... I'm finding it hard to concentrate. But it's a beginning!

I was looking for a crazy photo in my files and found this one of Wendy, her friend Tiffany, and Kristin. It was taken New Year's Eve at a "Wigs & Wine" party. Kristin had flown to Phoenix from Chicago to celebrate with Wendy, Darin, and friends and get a bit of sunshine. Kristin was back in Phoenix last weekend to run the PF Chang "Rock and Roll Marathon" with a whole group of friends. FUN!!
Wendy and Darin just left for the PGA in Florida. Kristin is joining them tomorrow night. They never sit still. They live each day!
When I found Boyd that Monday, both girls were here that same day. They stayed for a week and held me up and organized the funeral, etc. I applaud their employers for giving them that time.
I copied this from Karen Walker. Try it yourself!

Outside my window . . . fresh snow on the sidewalks and sunny.
I am thinking . . . please let this Vertigo go away so I can drive.
I am thankful for . . . another day and my wonderful girls, my friends, & SIL Mary.
I am wearing . . . jammies with a hoodie sweatshirt zipped up. Charming!
I am remembering . . . Boyd
I am going . . . to get the Christmas decor tucked away in the basement today.
I am currently reading . . . 'People of the Book' by Geraldine Brooks. It's the first book I've tried that has hooked me.
I am hoping . . . for another good night's sleep.
On my mind . . . organizing papers for my attorney.
Noticing that . . . I'm not eating well... few veggies.
Pondering this word . . . "widow". I don't associate it with me. That's something that only happens to other people.
From the kitchen . . . I actually made chili a few days ago. After one bowl I froze the rest.
Around our house . . . Stacks of legal papers.
One of my favorite things . . . movies, movies, and more movies. I get lost in them and forget reality.
There! I did it! And it wasn't so difficult!
Love to you all!
joni

Oh Joni! How lovely to see you post. I've been thinking about you this month and wondering how things were going. Now that you have that first post back under you belt, I hope you'll be here often. ;-)

Dear friend, I’ve been thinking about you so much. It’s so good and brave to see you’ve posted and are writing so cheerful! The word widow doesn’t suite you indeed. I hope you will be able to cherish all the wonderful memories of your life with Boyd. All the posts that involved Boyd’s name were so sweet and happy.
I would have loved to write you a real letter, but I don’t have your new postal address.
Take care, take time to heal. I hope to see more posts coming.
Hugs)))

It's nice to have you back. I am sure it is difficult.

How blessed you were to have both girls there with you to help hold you up and keep you moving. Those are such difficult days.

Love the blue hair!!! I think I would like that for my new look this year.

I was so pleased to see you had posted again. Like everyone else, you have been in my thoughts and prayers since I read your post telling us about Boyd. I'm so glad your girls were with you and able to have time off so you weren't on your own. I can only imagine how difficult it must be adjusting to your new life but know from reading your blog that you are a strong lady and you will come through this. Hold on to your wonderful memories of Boyd and remember the good times. I look forward to more posts on your blog and if ever you need to "talk" to someone, you can email me on the link on my blog. Take care of yourself and be gentle on yourself.
Hugs :) Rhona xx

I too am glad to see you back. Your girls are so lovely and you're such a strong family; but of course it's such a sad time for you. I can only imagine how you must feel. Thinking of you still.

If you check your sitemeter - or whatever tells you how many "hits" you have had on your blog . . .you'll see quite a few from Seymour, TN. I've been checking back (almost daily) to see how you are doing.

My friend. . . .I had the same thought about you being a "widow" and you not seeming like one. I know that you were married before, but . . . well, you know.

Whatever name/label you decide to wear, you are going to wear it in style, Joni. I have no doubt - when the air clears, and some of the dust settles - life will return to an "adjusted" normal. You will, and obviously DO miss Boyd terribly -- but when the sun comes out, and the spring buds begin to blossom, you really will find hope and healing. I just know it.

Please know you've been in my thoughts and prayers. I have seen fabrics and thought of you -- I was picking up baby dolls in Caroline's room (imagine that) and found the precious doll you made for her. Of course, she's been loved, hugged, and undressed a hundred times!!!

You are loved, Joni. You are cherished by your two beautiful daughters, and your friendship with so many of us -- even those who have just met online -- is so very valuable.

I'm so proud of you for bravely posting again. Please keep it up, as you can. As you can see -- there are lots of us who want to stay in touch with Mrs. Yummers. :)

Much love.....A

Ah, Joni, I'm praying for you. So happy that you have good friends by your side.
I enjoy Geraldine Brooks so much--that book was great. March and The Year of Wonders were incredible, too.
Hugs to you.
